Screening and Resources

Screening plays a vital part in early detection of oral cancer. The earlier you catch the cancer, the better. The golden rule here is that anything out of the ordinary that lasts longer than 2 weeks should be checked out by a medical professional.

This video explains how to perform an oral cancer screening on yourself. You don’t have to have the materials in the video to do this, but they are helpful. I would recommend doing the screening in front of a mirror and using a flashlight or a phone flashlight when looking inside the mouth.
